Things in life have been extremely stressful. I decided to take a class for....
Well, to start back up I thought I'd throw down a few thoughts and pictures of places I've been recently.
THIS is a Brazilian Acai Bowl from Aubergine and Company. It was bright, fresh, and from what I know about acai, it was REAL. So, it wasn't very sweet. The fruit, house made granola and honey helped, but it wasn't what I expected. I give it a 6 out of 10. Here is the worst part, unfortunately... I paid a whopping $9 and something for this! I was saddened by the price but look forward to trying something else at this all natural, organic restaurant.
Next. COOKIES. I LOVE cookies with all of my heart. I've found the most stellar recipe in a book that has basically helped my cooking and baking, well, 100%. It's called "A Year With Six Sisters' Stuff" and I love it. Here is the link to their website.
These are Oatmeal Scotchies. If you even THINK you like oatmeal or butterscotch, you may or may not fall in love with these and make 3 batches in 2 weeks. They are like crack. If anyone wants the recipe and can't find it online, I'd be more than happy to give it to you.
The last picture is a salad. Sorry, the picture quality is quite horrible! Hopefully I can take pictures with something other than my phone someday. Okay. Back to the delicious salad.
My husband, Adam, teases me all the time about what I eat. He says my main food groups are salad and chicken. He's right. However, I would also add in cookies. No but seriously, I love trying to put salad concoctions together. I love greens my favorite way to eat them is in a salad. This is an Asian salad that I just made up.
It has:
-Spinach
-Feta cheese
-Mandarin Oranges
-Some random Asian noodle mix from Walmart that's delicious
and, the best part...
-Sesame Ginger dressing, made from Lite House.
YUM. All I'm missing here is the chicken.
Salads make me feel refreshed and not heavy. I don't eat one EVERY day, but most of the week. By having the ingredients handy, I throw it together and take it to work. It's not easy but I feel great when I do.
Well, I hope you've enjoyed this week's rendition of Sweetest Sustenance. Enjoy your week and keep your head up!
